Volgabus company will allocate 200 million rubles for the development and testing of unmanned buses
Not so long ago we wrote about the electrical MATROSHKA modular platform, which introduced the concept of the Russian company Volgabus. The versatility of the platform is that on its base, you can quickly make a small, but functional special vehicles or passenger bus. The platform can be used by itself - according to the developers, it can carry the load without any problems. Apparently, things went uphill Project: Strategic Initiatives Agency reports that the company Volgabus allocate a grant of up to 200 million rubles for the project robotic passenger traffic.
After Volgabus receive a grant, the company's specialists to begin production testing of unmanned platforms, and then will be tested in different environmental conditions. The project was named "Special Markets: robotic passenger transport." In the early stages of Volgabus experts plan to develop several prototypes of unmanned systems to then integrate them into modular platform transport MATROSHKA.
The Director General Volgabus Alexey Bakulin said that the development should be universal, so it can be used on any unmanned vehicles. To do this, of course, require the establishment of certain standards. The regulatory framework, which will be certified and use unmanned vehicles on public roads, is already planning to present in 2018.
Part of the work will be financed by the Fund for Support of STI projects, the remaining funds necessary for the development, the company will seek Volgabus own.
