Samsung has invested billions in building production of memory chips
an acute shortage of memory chips is observed in the industry, say the world's leading experts. Fast-paced Internet of Things, automotive intelligent systems, game consoles, leaving thousands every year smartphones and tablets - they all need memory. And it is this same memory on the market today sorely lacking. South Korean tech giant Samsung is trying to rectify the situation and strongly invests tens of billions of dollars to increase production of scarce components.
Samsung management decided to invest in the expansion of production capacities 30 trillion Korean won, which is equivalent to 26, $ 1 billion. The money will be spent on development in the Korean city of Pyeongtaek factory company from 2017 to 2021. It is the world's largest factory producing memory chips. To date, it is able to produce 64-ply V-NAND-chips of the fourth generation. An additional 6 trillion won (5, $ 2 billion) will be invested in expanding the factory in the city of Hwaseong. In addition, this plant is equipped with the latest technology. Samsung is also considering expanding production capacity in China. It is possible the construction of the second factory of the company in the territory of that State. China's first Samsung factory is currently operating at full capacity. The South Korean economy is largely dependent on the company's success, which is why the government is trying all possible ways to support the activities of Samsung. Thus, the country received not only the flow of funds to the Treasury, but also more jobs for the population. It is possible that in the near future the company will also build a new plant for the production of OLED-display, which is also lacking in the market.
