China has put on stream road construction from solar panels
The authorities of the Chinese city of Jinan began construction of the second section of the road, which will be able to charge electric vehicles directly during trips - said Electrek. Both roads will be put into operation in the coming days.

The first part of the road completed late last year. The work was done over ten months, during the construction contractor Qilu Transportation Development Group has mounted on the roadway more than 660 square meters of solar panels. The second road segment is located on the motorway Jinan, and its length is 1, 6 kilometers.
A special pavement laying technology has been developed for the implementation of such an idea. The top layer consists of a transparent innovative material possessing properties of conventional asphalt, the second layer - a conventional solar battery, the third - the insulation, which protects the solar panels against moisture. The upper layer of the road is very durable, so even the trucks will be able to ride on it. Now the solar panels allow illumination of the road, but the project developers are assured that soon will add to road vehicles and a wireless charging function. Exactly how they are going to implement the idea - not reported. China is not the first country that puts into operation such roads. Earlier, a similar project was implemented in France and Israel. French road use batteries for lighting, saving resources of the local power plant, equipped with the same way Israeli feature wireless charging of electric cars.
