Renault will equip the island of Porto Santo energy storage system of the old battery

The properties of these drives is somewhat worse than comparable devices from other manufacturers, but they are much cheaper drives offered by competitors. In addition, residents of Renault will provide 20 electric ZOE 14 and 6 Kangoo ZE, which will be charged with the help of a specially designed "smart" systems and only during the hours when there is an excess of electricity in the network. The island itself is very small, so the locals are unlikely to completely use up the battery charge. The excess can also be fed back to the network when necessary, e.g., during peak hours.

The project has already been approved by the authorities of the Portuguese archipelago of Madeira, with whom carmaker and plans to implement the idea. Electrify going to Porto Santo Island, whose area is 42 square kilometers in which live about five thousand inhabitants.
