Astronauts practicing walking on the lunar surface eruptions
Mission "Apollo 11", during which a person has taken the first step on the moon, was completed 50 years ago. At this point it is important to astronauts prepare for the next missions and to learn to use new geological tools and other electronics that are much more complicated than half a century ago. This is particularly important for the European Space Agency ESA, which had previously never seriously thought about manned missions to the Moon. Well, the time has come - tests are already on the volcanic terrain of Spain.
Especially for this ESA established the company Pangea-X, whose purpose - to combine the exploration of space, high-tech equipment for research and geology. Since the European agency has no own space suits, NASA astronauts used costumes. They are very similar to those which at one time were Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. They stifle the movement, not allowing pilots to squat and lean and fat sealed gloves do not provide strong grasp small objects. Learn how to use the equipment in uncomfortable suits - one of the main objectives of researchers.
We do not have their own lunar spacesuits for these tests, but after spending hours of training in space suits, NASA, we are accustomed to traffic restrictions - shared Herve Stivenin, designer of space missions.
For the greater effectiveness of missions, suits equipped with a 360-degree camera, shoot everything happens in real time. Also the astronauts have an electronic field book to record the results of research. The agency wants to achieve that all the investigated data immediately went to the ground or the space station for more detailed analysis.
It should be reminded that a new generation of spacesuits are already in development. Big breakthroughs in this regard made by Boeing and SpaceX engineers - read opinions astronaut Sunita Williams of updates can be in our material.
