March 6 at Sotheby's in London will be very unusual lot - the installation, the main element of which is a neural network, continuously generating unique portraits. The project, called "Memories of passers-1" (Memories of Passersby 1), will be the second piece of art from the AI, which will be sold. In this case, it is the first such neural network, which was created specifically for the auction.

The installation consists of two screens connected by a small vintage chest of drawers (by the way, is also an important part of the project, a walnut tree after all). It is in this "locker" is artificial intelligence, which alone generates a stream of images. According to the creator of the project - Mario Klingemann, the buyer of the lot provide itself with the original portraits for a lifetime (yeah, they never happen again).

To train the neural network, used by tens of thousands of paintings and works of European art. AI is capable of self-training, for which the creator has built a set of algorithms. To operate the installation only needs electricity for the rest of the neural network responds.
