A week later there was another good news that says that the helicopter has proven its ability to fly in Martian conditions. Testing was performed in a special chamber with carbon dioxide.

The experiment was held at the Laboratory of NASA's Jet Propulsion near Los Angeles. Mars conditions were restored in the chamber 7, the width, 62 meters, first researchers sucked out of it all nitrogen, oxygen and other gases, and then filled with carbon dioxide - the major component of the atmosphere of Mars. To ensure low gravity, scientists used gravity discharge system - the strap on top of the helicopter, which provides power, the equivalent of two-thirds of the Earth's gravity. During the two test helicopter takeoffs rose by 5 centimeters - to make sure that the machine can fly in Martian conditions, that was enough. Previous tests have proven that the helicopter is able to withstand sudden changes in temperature, and this helped him great internal heater.
