The new discovery is considered to be unique, because scientists have not been able to find such a well-preserved skeleton of a Viking. To unearth it, archaeologists took a whole month. According to their calculations, while burying a man's body was put into the back of the ship, and sacrificed a dog and a horse placed in the bow.
Researchers are very lucky that they found the body just now. Due to the existing technologies today, they will be able to easily determine the age of the Vikings and the cause of his death. Perhaps the ancient warrior was killed during the battle, but also there is a possibility that he killed a terrible disease. Archaeologists also hope to find biographical information about the person: where he was born, where he lived and what he did.
The skeletons of men and animals are likely to be sent for laboratory examination. The rest of the findings, such as swords, axes and jewelry will become exhibits at the Swedish Museum of History in Stockholm.
