Why is the first road from the solar panels in the world - it is a complete failure?

This is quite a large area is used only for the movement of cars, but why people do not use it for other purposes? For example, the road can be covered with solar panels that produce electricity to power streetlights. It is this idea a few years ago came up with the representatives of the French company Colas. In 2016, the first road from the solar panels in the world was finally built, but now it wants to demolish. The fact that the company made a lot of stupid mistakes.
