Why insects are so fond of the light?
Scientists have long been trying to find an answer to why some insects, leading predominantly nocturnal, literally hypnotized by a light source. Forgetting about their own safety, butterflies (and not only them) flies as close to the lamps and open fire, describing the unusual trajectory of his flight, which was first noticed in 1917 by scholar W. von Buddenbrooks.
The researcher was first described by the movement of the butterfly as a logarithmic spiral, the center of which is a source of light and heat. In other words, drawn by the light, insects hover not shuffle around a light bulb, and obeying some unknown until now laws.

A well-known scientist of the XX century Vladimir Borisovich Chernyshev expressed the theory that a butterfly, losing control of the senses because of the bright light, feel an instinctive desire as soon as possible to get away from possible danger. Due to the fact that, in normal circumstances such a defensive reaction is always directed toward the light, the insects are lost, and instead fly away to a safe distance, butterflies fall into a vicious circle, continuing to fly to the lamp or the fire, considering them to be the only safe haven . Additionally, experiencing exactly the same feeling, the insects tend to flickering monitor and just a lighted area. Reaching the goal, butterflies settle down and freeze, thinking that one day, and you can safely relax and not get caught in the clutches of predators.
