Scientists found traces of alcohol and coca in Inca mummies of children

Scientists who have studied the well-preserved bodies of three children of the Incas, came to the conclusion that before the death of those consumed alcoholic beverage and coca leaves.

The bodies of the children are perfectly preserved by being frozen in the mountainous areas near the modern border of Chile and Argentina. According to one version, on top of the Andean rite was performed kapakocha, during which children were sacrificed. Nevertheless, their bodies are not signs of a violent death.

The researchers believe that teenagers selected in advance accustomed to alcohol and drugs to make the most obedient. The highest dose of these substances has been fixed in the older, 13 years, women, and X-rays showed preserved between its teeth coca leaves.
