Large Indian Journey - Calcutta
• Great Indian Journey - Kolkata
The official reason for the visit to India has been surveying the Indian wedding. But as fly all this way just for the wedding would be foolish, my friend and I decided to come to India in advance, look around and travel. Planned such a program - arrival in Calcutta (flight Moscow-Dubai-Kolkata), a couple of days there, then on a train going north to Siliguri, and further - Jeep - north to the Himalayas, with stops in Kalimpong and Darjeeling, and then - in the neighboring state of Sikkim, on the border of China and Tibet.

In general, it is said - done. The first point of our trip - Calcutta. She Kolkata. I must say, Calcutta was a real shock to us - never seen so much dirt, dust, noise and dust per square meter. And the smell .. Crazy traffic on the roads, after which the Moscow traffic begins to seem calm and measured, and the drivers - a very cultured. People who eat, brush your teeth, sleep and defecate in the streets - that's the first impression of Calcutta. And although I do not because of the faint of heart, even for me it was all somehow too sharply.
In general, we go for me :) See for yourself - part one - Kolkata.
The first part of pictures - transport in Calcutta - buses, rickshaws, bicycles, all this goes through the streets is absolutely chaotic, overtaking, undercutting each other on an opposite, as you wish, honking loudly. If not gudish - go nowhere :)

Sketches of the city and its inhabitants.

Clothes drying directly on the pavement.

a herd of goats chased straight through the busy streets ...

The construction site of a new metro station. Now in Calcutta only one branch, with a population of over 15 million people.

A whole village of people living under the bridge.

One of the many demonstrations, met us. Apparently dissatisfied with the lives of many.

The Bridge on the River Hooghly, a tributary of the Ganges. By the way, remove, as it turns out, it is strictly prohibited on the bridge. Seeing us with cameras, the police forced to erase all the frames of the bridge (fortunately I took only a couple, was not sorry). All I could do - leaving, show them fuck.

Pleasure boat, they ride on the river.

This is inside the boat cabin.

Territory "Victoria Memorial" Park dedicated to Queen Victoria.

A walk along the lake. Here, bathe, wash, wash, fish. Like this...

And that Tyson, adorable pug, the owners of which we stayed :)
