• The house at the river in the vicinity of Yekaterinburg

This guest house in the vicinity of Yekaterinburg area of 300 square meters designed by architect Dmitry Pozarenko. Located on a plot near the river with a beautiful landscape, it is adjacent to the main residence. The prototype served as a guest house of stone barns, which were built in the Urals in the XVIII century. The customer wanted to see a traditional building, but did not mean a house of logs, and the more it was not about something artsy and shocking. It was to be the architecture, where the traditional integrated in the heart of the project is its essence, but it is not expressed directly, but on a more subtle level.
Reinterpreting tradition from the perspective of today, the architect was inspired Barn slate. For authenticity walls in natural stone, with local material was taken - Bashkir slate. The shape of the building - another clue to the architect's plan and a strong associative array. The building consists of two wings and with powerful volume vertical beams dominant in the overall structure. Architect house deliberately pulled horizontally to achieve an extended, topographical configuration, as well as to give the traditional architecture of a new, interesting way. This is partly dictated by the location of the site, running along the river and gently down to the water. The panoramic windows of the structure facing the opposite shore. In turn, the house also had an impact on the surrounding landscape. When the building is put, it became clear that the need to expand the territory. To enhance the effect of the architecture, the customer bought the neighboring areas to the right and the left, which was planted by heavy trees. They have created the effect of complete privacy. Although in fact it is gated development, it seems that no people around, only virgin nature. Photo: Mikhail Pomortsev
